The Grower Champagne
movement is becoming increasingly famous in Asia. It first started with Jacques
Selosse many years ago, followed by Francis Egly and recently the famous Cedric Bouchard. Nowadays,
more than 20 small wineries in Champagne are leading the game with new stars
like Ulysse Collin or Emmanuel Brochet
coming into the spotlight. You can often identify these wineries by the letters
R.M. on the back label (R.M. = Récoltant‐Manipulant, meaning
they grow and handle, i.e. make Champagne out of their own grapes).
For this evening Julien Froger from L’Imperatrice Fine Wines will guide us through a tutored wine
tasting of 12 fantastic Grower Champagnes and 2 rare Coteaux de Champagne (red
wine). The tasting will be accompanied by a sumptuous dinner put together and
prepared by Executive Chef Tsang from the famous 2 Star Michelin restaurant
Ming Court at the Langham Place Hotel.
