Dear Commandeurs,

 

 

                  Our next dinner will be with one of the top SaintJulien chateaux, namely, Chateau Branaire Ducru.  The owner, Patrick Maroteaux, bought the Chateau 25 years ago and this year he chooses to have a special dinner with us to celebrate their 25th anniversary with the Chateau.

 

                  This, of course, will be a very special occasion and Patrick, who has been a long-time friend to our Chapter, has chosen some top wine for our dinner.  We will be having Chateau Branaire-Ducru 2005, 2003, 2000, 1996, 1988 and their Duluc de Branaire-Ducru 2006, all in magnum.  The wine will of course be in the most pristine condition as they come directly from the chateau.  It will be rare to have all the wine of the chateau in magnum to be drunk at the same time.

 

                  The dinner will be held at the Pool House of the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on Saturday, 13th July 2013 at 7:30     p.m.  The cost for the dinner, including our usual champagne reception, is HK$1,650.00 for members and HK$1,750.00 for guests.

 

                  Our next event for your diary will be with Chateau Clinet on Friday, 1st November 2013.  Chateau Clinet is a top Pomerol ranking on par with Vieux Chateau Certan and Chateau Trotanoy.  Their production is only about 4,000 cases every year.  It will be a rare treat for us.
